Really confused by this listing - some discrepancies:

1) Hurricane-Lees Summit built one street car and it ended up belonging to Jason Kovachevich, the lead builder back then. The car is shown in the picture. Street dash, under-car exhaust. I have personally seen the car. Its serial number was HM1021

2) Mike Arps (one of the founders of Hurricane Motorsports) is selling a very similar car, carries the same serial number and is the same color. But this car has a roll bar, side pipes, hood scoop, and an S/C layout dash.

Same car? Different car? I'll try to call Mike and clarify

Besides all the differences, the side vents are painted as showed in these pics Jason posted years ago. http://forum.hurricane-motorsports.com/forum/index.php?topic=1774.0

I knew Mike kept a car for himself when they sold the business, but never saw anything on his build. I'm pretty sure this is not Jason's car, but Mike's build.

That's were the confusion comes in. The car given to Jason was numbered 1021. The one Mike kept for himself was 1100. Yet on the Cobra Country ad, he is showing the number as 1021. Maybe a bookkeeping error?

Paul, I see now. I'm betting on the book keeping error. Let us know what you find out from Mike.

Had a nice conversation with Mike Arps, founder of Hurricane Motorsports. He confirmed the serial number is correct. He purchased the "street car" from Jason and then added the side pipes, roll bar, dash and engine upgrades. Said he felt it would sell better as an 'S/C' than as a street car.

I think he's done an excellent job

I learned there is a guy in Texas looking for a Hurricane, similar to his buddies. Not sure who this is, but this would be an excellent candidate.

You can reach Mike at (816) 305-0543

Paul, mine is for sale as well and I live in San Antonio, so if you find out who in Texas is looking for a Hurricane give them my phone number as well. Thanks.

Yes, said he was going to build it as a 289 FAI. When they shut down, they were working on a 289 version and he still has that body to put on it.  I'll try to keep in touch with him to see how this is going

Yes. I have another car to work on in the garage and even though it is a  billed as a "3 car garage" the garage is actually more like a 2 1/2 car garage so something has to go and the Cobra is finished so it's available. Just have to decide where to post it for sale.
