« on: June 13, 2010, 07:53:58 PM »
2 Years, 3 months. I don't know that you ever get these cars done, but I am to the point it is ready to be licensed. Appointment with State Police on Jun 29th for final licensing process.

I am anxious to take it to a local landmark for more appropriate photos

Congratulations, Paul!  Definitely a labor of love.  It's odd that a fellow with your knowledge and credibility on the Cobra is sporting "rookie" stripes on his Hurricane!  I guess in this case, technically, it's the car that's the rookie!

The car looks great.  I'm sure you're not done working on it, so it will get even better!

That is wonderful, Paul.  Are you still planning on trailering it to Jeff City for the inspection/licensing process?  Naturally, I am very interested in how it all goes, because who knows, in another decade or so I will be ready!

Appointment for inspection in Rolla on June 29th. Local friend just did a Backdraft there and it went smooth. I am hoping to follow in his foosteps. We have similar paperwork and drive train configuration/sources.

To those who don't live in Missouri, you have to prove to the State Police that the parts you used weren't stolen. Seasoned blocks are always an issue. Blocks from the mid sixty's were not serialized so there source is difficult to prove. It's a gauntlet we need to run before the license bureau does the calculation on how much sales tax you owe them.  This is the fun part of kit building  :-/

Paul, the car looks "Super", "Cool", "Bad to the bone"..all old terms to describe what you've done.  Can't wait to see more pics. in the local countryside.

Make sure you have your "Certificate of Orgin" from Hurricane, I forgot to take mine to the DMV in AZ, I had to go home and find the darn thing to get it registered.

. . . Cobra is sporting "rookie" stripes . . .

Did a little research the term Rookie Stripe. In this case, the usage is in-accurate.

The stripes come from the Mid-60's era FIA racing. Shelby used the stripes to identify which car was coming into the pit.

Hey Paul, not to pick nits here, but wasn't it 3 years?  Or is 2 yrs 3 mos, the actual number of elapsed hours you spent wrenching on it to get it looking so perfect?  Seriously, great job; can't wait to see you driving it.  HARD.
