Build Pictures / HM-2027 build thread. The Street Beat.......
« on: August 29, 2020, 07:27:35 AM »
Hello everyone. Longtime member here. But brand new to the Hurricane family. I've waited a long time to do this build. And then as my dream is about to happen......Covid. I had planned on flying to Iowa to visit and place my order in person. But it didn't work out. Alec and I emailed back and forth and we came up with a great plan. He's has been so helpful. I hope HM-2027 will be here sometime in September. I'm building a Street model. These have really grown on me since seeing Jason's red street model years ago. Have never seen a Hurricane in person.  So I hope it's a good one!! I only have a few random pictures to show for now. Frame pictures Greg K was nice enough to post up. And few of the bare 427 S/O block. Before the lock down happened I drove to Virginia to get the 427 and few other parts from a buddy of mine. Cobra Automotive here in CT is doing the short block. If you like Cobra's and Shelby's it's the place to visit!! However my wallet is quite a bit lighter every time I leave there. Stewart Transport will bring the kit once it's ready. I look forward to this and sharing progress as I can. Thanks for watching. Glenn.

General Questions / FE underhood clearance...
« on: November 12, 2006, 08:41:40 PM »
Can some of you guys with the FE's tell me what kind of underhood clearance you have from the top of the aircleaner to the bottom of the hood? The reason is I'd like to get a street version without the hood scoop. But I'm building a 427 tunnelport with a 2x4 intake and I'm concerned it won't fit under the flat hood. I'll use a SC hood with the scoop if needed but hoping to get away with the flat hood if possible. Another concern is the undercar exhaust will choke the performance of the tunnelport. So I'm a little undecided between the street version with undercar exhaust and the SC with the sidepipes. I do like the clean look of the street car tho.  I guess I could use a hood scoop and run sidepipes and keep the rest like the street version?? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

G.

General Questions / Leather vs vinyl seats...
« on: September 03, 2006, 10:18:37 AM »
I'm debating the leather seat and dash upgrade and looking for feedback on the stock seats that come with the kit. Are the vinyl seat and dash material nice enough? And is the leather upgrade worth the extra $$$$$ ??? Also I heard some mention of a carpet upgrade but don't see any on site mention of this. How is the stock carpet compared to the upgrade if there is one? I'm leaning towards the street version with IRS and trying to nail down the interior options at this point. Thanks for your help.

Glenn.
